Admirers of M-Phazes’ style will especially appreciate the first video, as M-Phazes clarifies exactly what he uses for chopping samples and for making his drums. The second video is a standard interview, wherein M-Phazes discussing his upcoming beatmaker-based album, Good Gracious. He also points out what I’ve long said about beat tags, and he plays a number of snippets from songs off of his album. Finally, the third “video” is an instrumental of M-Phazes called “What Now.” I recommend giving this instrumental several (at least) listens, as it’s a good demonstration of how intricate and creative chopping samples and other sounds can get.
